Nobody can be that stupid.
Edit>After re-consideration, I realize it was all pre-meditated.
The late Puggy Moity would be proud.

My guess is he's trolling...

I would imagine he's looking to run for higher office, and this get's his street cred up.

He's obviously catering to his constituency.
;-)

This illustrates that he's not sincere in his opposition to St George, as he has to know this is going to backfire.

Even Russian is critical of Delgado, and they are both on the same side of this issue.
He doesn't represent me, but he's obviously a loose cannon positioning himself for something else, possibly mayor.

He's bought himself millions of dollars of advertising just getting his name on TV and in the paper so much. His philosophy is people can call him anything they want to call him as long as they spell his name correctly.
He's going to run for Mayor-President of EBR.

I live in the St George area.
I have not decided on how to vote, and quite frankly due to other circumstances, have not followed the issue to make an informed decision.
Though I've gotten used to this sort of talk on the national level, it's quite stunning to see it locally.
He's becoming the Dee-Dee Slaughter of Baton Rouge.

Thank you Mr Russian.
I appreciate your intellectual honesty in this whole discussion.

“They’re instilling fear for the purpose of getting what they want, that’s a terrorist,” Delgado said. “They’re the Baton Rouge Taliban.”
Asked about the fairness of comparing the St. George incorporators to groups who have killed Americans, Delgado responded that the St. George effort threatens Baton Rouge lives.
Sweet sassy molassy. The best thing going for St. George backers are St. George opponents.

Louisiana politicians in general are so full of fail.
I guess I could see a semblance of an analogy starting to emerge from his initial words, but as his statement went on it turned into a train derailing into a dumpster fire.
Kip is one of the smarter politicians in the area and I'm surprised he hasn't been able to convince these people to let him do the talking.

In case you don't remember, I supported Delgado's CP council opponent when Delgado got elected. His opponent was Smokie Bourgeois. Smokie is not the brightest light bulb in the chandelier, but he is at least a small business owner and not a lawyer looking to use the city council as a stepping stone to a higher office and who was so desperate to get elected he made up stories demeaning Smokie's character. Totally untrue things, too.
Delgado didn't even live in this council district but after he hired a polling firm to tell him which incumbent councilman was the most vulnerable and the results came back that Smokie was weak because of his failed ordinance to require food trucks to get property owners' written permission to operate on their property (seemed reasonable to me) that only then did Delgado move into Smokie's district just so he could run against him.
When I told people on this board during that election that Delgado is slime, I took a lot of heat from other posters (I'm good at that.)
They were telling me how much we needed someone more intellectual than Smokie on the CP council, 'at least Delgado has a college degree,' blah, blah, blah....
I tried to tell them what to expect with Delgado. And now we are getting it.

Shirley, you can't be serious.
And yes, I called you Shirley.

I bet most folks on this board don't remember Puggy. We had a Moity for Governor sign tacked on the wall of our utility room.

I remember Puggy. I don't recall him taking himself seriously, and at least he had some entertainment value.
Mr. Delgado is an opportunist is looking to further his own career at any cost.
Oh, and he's a dick too. In my opinion.

Puggy Moity was on every Sunday morning.
He was worth his weight in gold in entertainment value.
