It's got a teeny bit of recessive Pit Bull DNA.

Why do you folks continue to hug TM7's nutsack? I fully acknowledge his skills (he is one of the best to ever play at LSU - I loved him and marveled at his play, too) and all the great memories he left with us LSU fans......up until 1/9/12. He quit on his team and his school, and he ADMITTED he quit to Sports Illustrated. We desparately needed his talent and his leadership, and he quit on us.

I cannot understand how people continue to virtually worship somebody who quit on his team/school in its most crucial time of need, and ADMITTED IT.

I have always tried to refrain from bashing our players (past and present), but in the case of Mathieu, I just can't help myself. He let us all down.

sorry that you eternally typecast people as the worst they've ever been for you

for the rest of us, we can move past others' errors if they show us they've fixed the behaviors that led to those errors

Tyrann has and at the end of the day I respect him MORE for having screwed up like he did and righted the wrong than I did before he ever screwed up

Miles quit on 01/09, dive left, dive right, dive left, punt, and at the end of the 3rd thru 4th quarter.

You can't count....he got his second chance when Les let him back on the team after the synthetic weed incident.

He didn't let me down. Unless you're on the team, involved with the players, etc.. he did not let you down either.

I'm not on the team but yeah, he let me down. You don't have to be on the team to be let down or to feel good about players. I guess you don't feel good when the Tigers win because you're not on the team? Fans are typically more emotionally invested in the team than the players are.

However, I have moved on and wish him well in the future. There are things in life much more important than football and if TM7 finally learned that before something really bad happened then that is a good thing.

Everyone on the team quit on 1/9/12. I'm not saying it's ok, but that's the truth. RR was pouting, JJ was pointing fingers, and the defense started getting fatigued and quit. He made a lot of mistakes, but he's still arguably the best defensive player ever at LSU for 2 seasons worth. He still loves and reps LSU. Big Sam admitted to taking plays off against lesser teams. Tm7 probably played harder then anyone on the team that year besides maybe mo claiborn.

What could have been....still was a great regular season that year and to have a sophomore defensive player get a heisman invite.

Yet you are too stupid to understand...

The defense did not cost us that game in any form

that's not what he said to SI. You're thinking of an ESPN the magazine article and are taking it out of context:
quote:

"What resulted for Mathieu was a season of contradictions: He led LSU to an SEC championship one week, then met in secret with a school psychologist at an empty Tiger Stadium the next. He went back home to New Orleans to play for a national title and spent 14 hours a day sleeping in the team's hotel, too depressed to see visitors in the days before the game. "I don't even want to play," he told Sydni Russell, his girlfriend, who was then a freshman at LSU. "He was lonely in his head. That's the best way to describe it," says Shelly Mullenix, the athletic department's director of wellness, who counseled Mathieu that year. "I've seen emptiness before, and that was it. Part of him was still a lost and lonely kid."
