I want to use it mainly for work, so I would like to be able to take notes with a stylus.

I am currently looking at:

Apple iPad Air (not great for writing with a stylus but could compromise with a keyboard if it is superior)

Galaxy Note 10.1

Windows Surface

Would appreciate opinions on these three or any others you recommend.

All else being equal I prefer Apple to Android but not a deal breaker.

I have the note 10.1 2014 edition. Love it. The s-pen can do so much more than a stylus, but even just used as a stylus the recognition on even bad handwriting is awesome.

True multitasking.

As for apps, I need someone pimping the ipad and the app store to name an app someone needs that they can't get on the galaxy note. There's not. That is the drawback on the Surface though. Windows apps are way behind.

I have a Galaxy Note and I have been able to get any and every app for anything I've ever needed to accomplish.

Remember, iSheep are stuck recycling the same talking points they were fed three years ago. Don't expect much of what they say to make any actual sense.

So? A Chevy will get you from point A to B. A Lexus will do it in style.

Point being there are more, and they're better quality. It's as simple as that. Don't let the knee jerk Apple haters fool you by saying they never had a problem finding an app. It's all about selection and quality. v

You seem knowledgeable on PCs, do you have any suggestions for ultraportable laptops under $750?

Sorry for temporary hi-jack.

There is more than enough selection on both platforms for whatever you want to do, but who are you to judge quality here? What are your criteria? Not only have I never had a problem finding an Android app to do exactly what I want, but I can find one that does it exactly how I want to do it. Can you say the same for iOS apps?

Eh, I don't really have any suggestions. There are so many makes and models that it's impossible to keep up with it all. I would probably suggest you go to a store and actually use a few display models to help you decide. The most important things about a laptop (especially an ultra-portable) to me are how hard/easy it is to carry, how it feels typing on it, and battery life.

The iPad has Office now, too, as does Android.
