My 9 year old son is at his aunt's, no pics, and she just sent me a picture of a completely broken front tooth. It's a diagonal break from top to bottom. What do we need to do.

You need to get him to the dentist? I am unsure what alternative you could possibly be imagining.
If he is in pain due to the root being exposed because of the break head to the E.R. for pain management and maybe they can get you a type of emergency dental appt or something.

Is the root still in or did part of root come out with break?

shite wouldn't have happened if he was at home.

Your dentist should have someone on call to assist in directing you.

Wait until the OT comes up with a solution.

Did he do something that caused it to break?

You need to talk to a dentist. One should be on call through the local ER.

You've done all you can do by posting on the OT. If only there were some kind of professional who specialized in teeth.

I just pictured the kid writhing in pain and dad on his iPad yelling for the kid to be quiet so he can figure out what to do on TD

If they can find the rest of the tooth save it in saliva (preferably the patients) and keep it wet in a small container. If it's a clean break a dentist may be able to bond the piece back on to the tooth. I have done this many times and with good success.
Is the tooth sensitive? Is it bleeding and is it displaced from its normal position in the arch? If any of these apply, he needs to be seen asap and may need a root canal.
Do you or does his aunt have a regular dentist? These are the times that having a dentist that you see regularly is important. Try as best as you can to get in touch with your dentist and see if he would see your son asap. Good luck.

We've called our dentist, no answer. We've tried others locally, no answer. He's in no pain, there was no blood. I was just looking to see if anybody had any prior experience.

I do, but my mouth was bleeding and was all fricked up.

Well that is good news. Did they manage to locate the part of the tooth that was knocked loose? If so, save it and keep it wet with the patients saliva and start working the phone early monday morning so he can be seen.
