I'm drawing things up for the future kitchen, and consumer fridges seem like overpriced junk. Im considering a standup freezer next to a standup fridge, or I was.

I was looking at these Hoshizaki reach in fridges at the sportsman show...and Im thinking I may have to pull the trigger when the time comes. Over 50 cubic feet, and the ability to put warm pans of food in without fear of spoilage.

Just concerned with the sound levels and any other negatives anyone has concerning these.

I could easily store 15 dozen eggs, a few gallons of milk, condiments, gallon of pickles, cases of water, case of diet drinks, case of brew, and still have tons of room for fruits, veggies and meat.

The onky worry is what to do about ice...but an under the counter icemaker from them would solve that.

See if there is any info on energy use. If it is near the same as the home units or within reason,go for it.

Ive always wanted a commercial kitchen set up in my house.

Something I could walk in with a pressure washer and just hose down at the end of the night with a drain in the middle and the slab graded towards it.

Why do you need so many eggs though?

I like to keep a 55 gallon drum of mayo in my walkin but that's much more understandable than 15 dozen eggs.

This isn't the OT. We're not all ballers over here. Most of us have normal appliances and buy eggs a dozen at a time.

Any idea on the price on one of those things? I could easily empty two smaller freezers and only use them for odd shaped objects.

But that wouldn't make a good thread, brah.

"Hey guys, I was thinking about having an extra fridge in my garage to store odd things in. Anyone ever do this?"....boring, no brag, and not very SuzzieGoat'ish

I found my answer by searching. They hover around the 10K point. I may have to not pull the trigger on one.

I'd settle for one of their ice makers.

Small matter for the guy who is buying a Suzuki so he can stretch out the frame to make it look a limo or something.

By the way...did you miss this beauty...

It's simple, spend $10 Gs on 1 fridge, another 10 Gs on a freezer, and 2 Gs on a ice maker and the you can store 15 dozen eggs and not have to deal with a crappy 1200 dollar fridge.

All from the guy who wanted a 4-6 lb sack of crawfish.

The price is 2600...assholes.

Much more reasonable now huh? Considering a made in china special is 2300 in a french door.

Jesus, trolling the OT is one thing, I expected better here.

And a 200$ chest freezer that Ive had for 10 years would go in the garage/shop.

We eat a lot of egg whites, 15 dozen is a crate of eggs. Lasts about 2 weeks. Kind of important when you live 35 miles from the nearest store.

As for the suzuki...no, more a Long Wheel Base that wasnt released in the US.

As for the crawfish comment. Yes...I wanted 12lbs of crawfish that I could boil myself. I have this crazy thing concerning quality over quantity...and my recipe for boiled crawfish is considerably better than any of the boiling spots. I didnt want to drop a hundred bucks on a sack...because it is just the wife and I. And not soending money on dumb shite now is the way I intend to afford exactly what we want later.

Excuse me if a desire to have GOOD crawfish in some way offended you.

In short...eat a dick.

Actually about double the use in a restaurant situation. Constantly opening and closing, hot pans of food and so on. Im thinking that in home use itll barely run. Walls are like 2.5 inches thick.

The issue with these are typically noise and heat.

Trying to find someone who has run them in their home because I dont think they would be all that different than a regular standup.
