Hundreds of requests came in by fax for a mail in ballot, according to Col. Richie Johnson with the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office. Dozens of those requests for mail in ballots that came in by fax had information that did not match up with what was on file for the particular voters requesting a ballot by fax.

Then when early voting opened, at least one person went to cast a ballot, but was told he had already sent a mail in ballot in. That person told authorities he had not voted in the election yet.

Johnson said the case is under investigation right now and hundreds of people are being interviewed.
