-Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid: I'm a big fan of westerns when they are done right, and the characters Newman and Redford created were great for film. Trying to figure out who you would cast.
-Dirty Dozen: I love ensemble casts. I would just hope they keep it from being another cheesy action flick with tons of one liners. I'm looking at you, Expendables.

Essentially since no story is original it doesn't really bother me. Just good story lines is all I want. Rather than movies, I would like to see some good concepts that failed as Movies be given the True Detective treatment. The Long Form TV show as a 6 to 8 hour movie could open up stories that felt rushed on a 2.5 theatrical film.
The Steven King Novel may be the perfect thing to adapt as a Long Form TV Show like TD.

I would love to see how much shite a Blazing Saddles remake would get in today's PC culture.

I've been praying for this for years. HBO needs to get a deal with king to do a different book each season.
Starting with:
It
Salems lot
The stand
The talisman

Please no just leave all Mel Brooks movies alone they are already perfect. But I see your point.

I wonder what the twist would be.
Perhaps that it isn't a remake. It takes place in the principles head on his death bed as he reflects on his life. In the last scene we see him reading the letter they left him with a tear of happy nostalgia in his eyes.
Then suddenly he looks up in surprise and there's John Bender with a pillow looking homeless and he smothers him to death slowly. As he turns to leave a woman's earring, long worn, falls from his pocket. and finally he goes to walk out the house with his fist in the air as don't you forget about me plays.
As he opens the door it reveals a police standoff with Emilio Estevez as a cop, like most failed jocks and M. Night as a background cop for his signature cameo. Without warning Emilio shoots him dead. As he stands over his body with the smoking gun Bender looks up, half smiles, and says "Smoke up, johnny" and dies.
Fade to black.
Best remake ever.
