This guy is some type of diesel mechanic who also happens to be a powerstroke guy. It's a really good video about the good and bad of the 6.7 and the guy does a very good job of covering some technical stuff. Highly recommend it and his other videos for the other powerstrokes.

Bad? He must not know what he's talking about. Ford does no wrong. Ford trucks are a gift from god himself

His vids are really good IMO. He's pretty unbiased.

Chances are I'll never buy a diesel truck, but I'm a diesel nerd anyway. I've watched a few of his technical videos and they're good.

Dude has a bunch of 6.0 and 6.4 videos also. Talks about common problems and solutions, as well as strong and weak points. Takes apart engines and shows what he is talking about.
Only thing I wish was that he had a HD camera
Btw, my 6.4 has a leaking heater hose again, to the tune of a gallon a day

Ive never been a Chevy or dodge guy but if I bought a diesel id have to consider Chevy then Dodge before a ford

You've got to unload that thing. I'm sure this video guy would like to see it

My truck is 100%, no doubt in my mind, cursed. Cursed cars are very few and far between, but I have one.
I originally said it had a new engine in my CL add, but I took it off and am going to repost it without that info. I got a bunch of hits, but I think people were apprehensive because of the new engine.

Trade it in, they don't care

Nope. Never mention service records or anything like that on a trade. They don't care. As long as it runs decent and looks VERY clean you'll do better than you're doing paying those repairs.

Good video, thanks for posting. Looks like a good design other than the ceramic bearings in the turbos. No wonder they are changing them on the 2015. Wonder if you can get the bearings changed to a different material on a 2012?
Posted on 3/27/14 at 9:53 am to Langston
Probably not bad to swap the whole turbo. Ceramic bearings are supposed to be great. im not sure its that much of an issue. I hate TTY bolts though, dont care if they use 30 per head.

True. Overall he seems to support what's being said... that they are vastly improved. All engines have a weakest link and I'm sure with time we will find out what the 6.7's is. The fact they have been out since 2011 with no major issues is a very good thing though in my opinion. It didn't take 3 years to see major issues with the 6.0 and 6.4.

Been there. My 2008 chevy duramax was a nightmare. Damn engine had every glow plug replaced and the oil pan resealed not to mention the interior was falling apart after only 4 yrs and 60k miles

Long vid. Any discussion of water in fuel? Like the filter or warning?
Posted on 3/27/14 at 10:49 am to AlxTgr
Yes, he did discuss that issue some, but can't remember which motor had the issues now.

Get that guy on here to fix it.I think he said he could have the cab off/on in less than an hour.He probably do a heater hose in 5 minutes.
