Now that Ralph Wilson has passed, are the Bills Los Angeles bound?

They always said once Mr. Wilson passed, the family would sell the team and they are out of Western New York. If not Los Angeles, then where? Forget Toronto

Damn that would suck for Bills fans. That franchise has a ton of history.

Apparently not. I think the Rams will be after 2015 or when there lease expires.

I still cant believe that the second largest market in the US does not have a football team.

Their lease keeps them in Buffalo until 2022, but the team can opt out after 2019.

They should be forced to change their logo to a white Bronco on a freeway for at least five years if they do

Bills just signed a new lease with city and major renovations ralph wilson stadium. They aren't going anywhere for at least 10 years.

The Buffalo Bills’ franchise will be placed in a trust following the death of owner Ralph C. Wilson Jr., and no quick sale of the team is expected. In fact, the trust is likely to control and manage the team for at least a couple of years before any sale of the team is arranged, both team and National Football League sources tell The News."
Btw....there is one year that people think was put in for Ralph's death. The penalty every year of the lease is like $400 million....except year 7 which is only $29million
I think knowing Ralph was gone soon when lease was made that gives them 5 years from now to find someone yo buy them and keep them in buffalo. If not year 7 will be the year they leave.
Unfortunately Jim Kelly is buffalos biggest hope to get groups together and the cancer spreading could destroy that.
Its going to be an interesting 5 years for sure. Year 7 determines buffalos future

Forget Toronto
Why not? 6M people in the area; 5th largest city in North America. 2nd largest banking centre in North America. They have the money to spend: Toronto's GDP is estimated at $260B, which is larger than the following american cities with NFL franchises:
- Miami
- Seattle
- Phoenix
- Minneapolis
- San Diego
- Detroit
- Baltimore
- Denver
Granted LA has 17M people, but it's a pain in the arse to get to the game.

Canada bound!
Doubtful. Look at the crowds at the Bills games in Toronto - half empty stadium.
Canadians DGAF about the NFL.

NFL will not step on the toes of the CFL. gentleman's Agreement.

Maybe so....CFL games don't get much attendance either.
What about Atlanta? Couldn't they could use an NFL team. :rimshot:

if you gave them a team full time, and a good product they would probably support it.
the games in toronto have been awful both on and off the field (logistically things like tailgating have been totally flubbed). theyve been a terrible and expensive fan experience for a team thats just occasionally visiting (and you could go see in their home stadium with the full experience 7 other sundays just a couple hours down the road

The Toronto experiment was so bad they have taken tue game back to buffalo this year. It has been a disaster from year one and takes away home field.advantage from fans to cold weather. It was a money grab that has stunk. Even Canadian bis fans hate it. And in a recent poll the bills were barely the 3rd most popular nfl team in Toronto.
Bills message board started an idea yesterday to-do a tailgate this weekend in honor of ralph and in support of jim. The team seems to be behind it now and going to open the tailgate lots. Cool idea that started with a simple message board thread suggestingit.

Reports starting to come out that there is no but out til year 7 and the 28m one is a one time window. That the lease is otherwise iron clad.
