In movies and books?

Maybe I am different. I started reading when I was three and was reading novels(Great illustrated classics Tom Sawyer ect...) by the time I was 5. Hence I developed a massive imagination. Now when I am watching movies or books that tell a story where a character gets invested. I feel that emotion almost as if I am that character. Is this a just me thing? Or am I not alone? I've walked out of movie theaters elated, sick, in love, heart broken, devastated, angry, and several other emotions at different times. I can't seem to help it, I've tried, but my imagination drives me to dive into everything. Don't get me wrong I feel like I am able to feel a story more closely this way. For reading it's fantastic because I can put myself into the world that the words create around me. Just leads to some odd feelings once the initial "buzz" has worn off. I often get feelings of abandonment when a movie or book is over, especially if there is no real closure.

I'm really hoping they don't do this to me with psyche.

Yes, it made me sad when Elsa was ignoring Ana for a decade.

You obviously haven't read many threads on this board. There are plenty of posters on this board emotionally invested in their favorite movies/TV shows.

The parents kept her secluded from the world to avoid risking hurting anyone or her powers being discovered.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that everyone who has ever lived experiences the same thing as you.

It is the only reason we, as a species, tell stories.

For really good ones, sure; that's the point.

But it's rare for me to suspend disbelief to that extent.

How do you read/watch anything without getting emotionally invested. Aside from a few things.
