Yeah, what do you want to know? Haven't rented one in a while though

To be honest, a tractor with a box blade and discs will work better for what you're trying to do

Don't know what they rent for but a buddy just bought a working tractor for under $1k for his lease. He said he there's a guy near Pumpkin Center that has a couple just sitting on his property that he may want to get rid of.

How much work you have? Could be cheaper to buy a old Ford "N" for under 2K in the long run. Paying someone with the equipment (tractor and operator) is around $50 an hour. No less then three hours show up time.

I have two tractors at the house with front end loader, box blade, push blade, disc. was just curious if I could rent one of those tracked machines with a blade and use it as a mini dozer

I rent one occasionally to make trails because the tractor can't maneuver in tight spaces. Takeuchi TL140... it was around $350/day.

Little fker weighs 10000lbs so you may need a trailer with 8 lug wheels.

A skid steer is a heavy mofo for sure.

I do know of a fella that pulls with on the reg with the 2013 F150 XLT with Ecoboost like it's nobody's business.

Used to use skid steers alot when I owned my own business and I dont think they will do what you have in mind IMO. They are heavy, but interms of weight and gearing like a dozer they are not comparable. Light grading (3-4" cut max) and moving trees/brush around they will work perfect.

They are heavy, I'd be careful trying to haul with a 1/2 ton, they will completely destroy a 6 lug tandem trailer if your not careful.

That's pretty much the plan. Smooth out ruts etc. Can prob do everything with a tractor but figured if I could rent something for a day that does a little better of a job it would be worth the 500 dollars. Might just spend a week or two on a tractor and get it done

yes
the rental place wanted to check out my tow vehicle before they would let me take it. Super Duty F250 we were good to go. But if you didn't have an appropriate truck 150 drop off pick up fee.

Also if you need to push dirt farther than 20-30 feet while continue to cut then you'll have problems. if you just want to fill in ruts, level out some holes in food plots, etc then you should be good to go. Check out nations rent, volvo, etc. not sure if you have to have an account or not, would think for short term you could just rent with a CC.

Good luck

I had a friend that worked for a rental place once who quoted me $250/day for a bobcat similar to the one in your picture. Not sure if he was giving me a deal, but he's kinda an arse so I'd imagine he wasn't cutting me a deal.

The one I was renting was going to be 9,500 lbs, so yeah, it's a heavy fricker. I think he said they wouldn't let you leave the lot pulling it with a 1/2 ton truck.

I'd rent a dozer before I rented a bobcat/skid steer loader.

You can angle the dozer blade and make long cuts and roll the dirt over for your next push/fill. You'd be finished before you know it. You can also cut ditches on either side of your roads and roll that dirt back to the middle of the road for drainage. Never ride with your blade in the air. You're always either pushing or backdragging.

I work for a rental equipment company, best thing to do is rent one for a weekend. Rent on Friday afternoon bring back Monday morning for a 1 day charge. You get 8 hours of run time on the machine. T190 runs about 350.
