As bad as our hitting has been the last two weeks, ours pitching staff has been somewhat overlooked. We started the season with big questions about the bullpen which seem to have been answered. And while we don't quite have a clear picture on Sundays, Poche looks to have solidified his role as the Saturday guy.

NCAA ERA Stats

Five of the top nine schools are in the SEC as well.

7. Oregon St. - 2.01

Our SoS is somewhere around 100, which is relevant. But I still think this is much better than most thought it would be with so many new faces.

poche, and a bullpen that has really been shining when they were a question mark to start the season is a large part of that as well

I think our bullpen questions have been answered. I'm sure they will blow a game or two down the line, but even the best bullpens will occasionally lose a lead. I'm very pleased with what we have seen from the pen this year.

LSU Stats

Just ignore the hitting.

Person
Broussard
Bugg
Faucheux
Cartwright
Fury

All help to bring the ERA down (below the team avg.) and have significant innings.

as good as cotton was, top to bottom this bullpen is better than last year's IMO, by himself Cotton may have been better than any one on one comparisons, but as a whole

gimme this year

I'll take Cotton and what he did over the entire season ahead of the staff with only two SEC series so far.

What the hell happened to Vandy this past weekend? That bullpen looked like they would mow through everyone in the SEC...

Dunn getting it done!? In all seriousness, Javi needs to get his shite together and get our bats going. Oh well...just as long as we peak at the end of the year.

Vandy's bullpen wasn't so impressive against us. It was the starters who shite is down mostly. And Miss St. roughed up Beede. That was the surprising part a the weekend.

Hopefully this continues through MSU. They destroyed vandy's pitching on Friday.
