If I want to practice with a new shooting style, is there a gym mode to let you practice? I've looked all over and don't see it.

yes. you can do 1 on 1, 2 on 2, etc up to 5 on 5

I know there is a way to do it but i cant remember exactly how.
Try going to NBA today and it should be in there somewhere.

NBA Today then press O. I don't know if you can use your my career player though.

You would have to go to NBA Today and do a 1 v 1 on the blacktop with your MyPlayer to practice the shot type.
