BATON ROUGE- The Louisiana Supreme Court denied to hear arguments dealing with a lawsuit over the CATS property tax.

It means an end to the suit over the controversial tax that voters approved two years ago.

I wonder if those new routes will run in a pattern that looks like a giant middle finger?

You know it. Interesting that not even a single judge voted in favor of granting the writ.

BR is in need of a city manager system in terms of budgetary expenditure of every dime in every bank account across the board it isn't funny. Why does the "Library board" need 19 million to build a new library instead of renovating what is already there and generally empty of users every day.

I agree, it appears there is lots and lots of waste in the library system.

I hope we can learn if the SC refused to hear the case on merit or on the basis that the suit was filed too late.

It seems like every time a new building is needed for the government a totally new building is needed. There are so many buildings in this town that are already built that could be bought but these tributes to the Greeks must be created.

Tons. You can go online and buy a book for nearly nothing these days. They are glorified internet cafes.

Not just libraries each and every part of the EBR system of govt. with its squid like tentacles. Each part has its own taxing collection set apart rom the others. The dumb as a rock mayor has put forth how many tax referendums over his tenure? Does downtown BR need a taxpayer funded Disneyland? How many condemned bridges are there that await money to repair them? 19 million would make a pretty severe dent in repair of those structures.

Prescriptive periods are pretty easy calls in a case like this.

I haven't been keeping up. Is there another article that actually reports on the issue?

Yea, but writ denials don't let you know the basis for turning it down. Writ denials aren't supposed to be a mechanism to show the lower court "got it right."
