LSU / SMU - Common Opponents Comparison (and Vegas Line Update)

Results from SMU schedule:
31 pt win over Rhode Island (LSU loss by 4)
11 pt loss at Arkansas (LSU loss at Ark by 11)
3 pt win at A&M (LSU loss at A&M by 10)
29 pt win over McNeese (LSU win by 27)
Split with Memphis (LSU neutral court loss by 10)
Vegas casinos currently have LSU as a 6 to 6.5 dog.

Line is up to SMU by 8 at Wynn and by 7 at all others.

I just watched their loss to Memphis. I think LSU will play a pretty similar game to Memphis in that one. Have to hit some outside shots to get the inside more managable.
LSU is going to have to play very good defense. I think we will mix up zone and man defense.
The URI game was by far LSU's worst game of the year.
That A&M game was so frusterating. LSU was in a serious road funk at that point. We probably should have beat Memphis if O'Bryant doesn't have 10 turnovers.
I think LSU has gained some valuable confidence on the road winning 3 of their last 4 away from the PMAC. Im really hoping for a good performance tonight.

I learned a long time ago that the "common opponents comparison" is basically a useless indicator when predicting the outcome of a game.
And why did you include Virginia in your common opponent comparison when Virginia is not a common opponent?

If we play zone for multiple possessions, it could be a very long night. We simply are not a good zone team.

I think our man defense has gotten better over the last few games. We have at least two or three possessions when we get lost and fail to pick people up, but otherwise, we have improved since the middle of the SEC season.
