With Kansas, Duke, NC, Syracuse and probably Kentucky falling in the tournament this year, and senior driven teams like Florida are dominating...Has the phenomenon that is the one-and-done be the fall of the NCAA powerhouses?

I think the Anthony Davis led Kentucky team might be have been the peak for this.

The new NBA commish will most likely have the rule changed to "two-and-done" soon enough. So having the best players in college basketball for 2 years instead of 1 is probably going to make a big difference.

Were you expecting all of them to win the whole thing?

I think it just shortens the window of time in which these teams can succeed before having to reload.

Coaches don't have time to groom these 5 star recruits to make deep runs in the tournament year after year which gives opportunities to other schools.

I think the power house teams will still remain as they will continue to attract the big name recruits. With that, that may not equal success in March.

Clearly not, ya frickin' dangus...Those are the historical powerhouses, with the top players in the country, who happen to be 1 and dones, who also happen to be out of the tournament. Most of those teams were favored to make deep runs this year

yeah i totally agree. the key is getting a couple guys that are solid that are gonna stick around to combine with a stud freshman or two. that's been successful for these blue bloods in the past and it will be again.

So those teams are just going to stop recruiting elite athletes?

Would make me get more into college basketball earlier than March Madness if it was 2 and done

Exactly...the last time KU won the National Championship, they had solid leadership from juniors and seniors. Same with North Carolina and Duke when they last won their National Championships

IMO, Neither Duke nor UNC will win anything until they get some guys to stick around 3-4 years. The last 2 national championships those specific teams won, was full of upperclassmen.

It's hard to have an entire team any year as stated. For example, OSU has had Sullinger and Thomas leave early the past couple of years. If those guys had been able to stay with Craft OSU would have been hard to stop. The non-big conference guys get all their guys for 4-5 years.

Obviously most of the big time programs have guys who leave early, but was using OSU as an example I know of of course.

I have said for years the tourney should be top 16, best 2 out of 3. This year you still have your mid-majors in the tourney then, with St. Louis, Wichita and Creighton, while the powers are likely still in. OSU wouldn't even have been in the tourney this year, but I would have been fine with that

No, that's not really the point...It's getting those elite athletes to stay and develop skills, leadership, and teams that will lead to National Championships

The NBA needs to have a three year removed from HS rule like the NFL. If they're smart, they'll use college as a farm league, and ditch the D-league.
