It's Saturday morning, DS. Eat some bacon and watch cartoons. Climate change crap is not going to affect your enjoyment of pig.

Concentrations rise and fall seasonally as the ocean and growing plants absorb more CO2 in the spring and summer. But the highs recorded in the past week come two months earlier than last year's, and they may stay above the 400 level as long as July, Keeling said.

So the planet isn't warm enough yet for the growing plants and the oceans to absorb more of it earlier in the year? Lol

The fact that the study was done in Hawaii wouldn't be affected by all the volcanos emitting gases? Just asking.

Don't worry WWIII will kill off a few hundred million people and destroy machinery that produces CO2. All you have to do is convince Obama that kicking the Russians out of Crimea is a good way to combat climate change.

Yawn. Wake me when the concentration of water vapor (you know, the Earth's primary greenhouse gas) increases substantially, then I just might give a flying fart in the wind.

I reject the premise that human life is "bad" for the planet - since...

quote:

We are now living in this beautiful world. Think of the sun, which gives us warmth and light. Think of the rain, which makes plants grow and makes the world feel clean and fresh. Think of how good it is to hear a bird singing or a friend laughing. Think of how wonderful our bodies are—how we can work and play and rest. When we consider all of these creations, we begin to understand what wise, powerful, and loving beings Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father are. They have shown great love for us by providing for all of our needs. Plant life and animal life were also made to give us joy. The Lord said, “Yea, all things which come of the earth, in the season thereof, are made for the benefit and the use of man, both to please the eye and to gladden the heart; yea, for food and for raiment, for taste and for smell, to strengthen the body and to enliven the soul” (D&C 59:18–19). Even though God’s creations are many, He knows and loves them all. He said, “All things are numbered unto me, for they are mine and I know them” (Moses 1:35).

The Earth was created to be used by human beings. I seriously doubt the Earth would be so sensitive to something as simple and common as carbon dioxide - which is such an integral part of the life cycles between plants and animals.

That's why I became a Luddite in 1999.
I'd stay and chat but I have to make the two mile trek to harvest some hemp to make rope for my windmill.

Instruments on Hawaii's Mauna Loa observatory first recorded carbon dioxide levels above 400 parts per million last May, peaking at 400.5. This year, the seasonally fluctuating number has crossed 401 ppm three times this month and hit a record 401.6 on March 12, said Ralph Keeling at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego.

That's a figure well above pre-industrial levels and perhaps not seen since before the rise of humanity.

Using logic, why would you assume the rise in CO2 is caused by man made pollution?

Is the implication that one station reading is representative of the entire earth? Furthermore, does this scientist understand how seasons work? That is, when it's winter in the Northmen hemisphere it's summer in the Southern Hemisphere and vise versa?

I realize you have no scientific background at all....so I will attempt to educate you now:

FACT: current CO2 levels are nowhere near historic highs in the history of Earth.

FACT: current CO2 levels are nowhere near historic highs in the history of Earth since life evolved.

FACT: current CO2 levels are nowhere near historic highs in the history of Earth since the first records of massive land animals.

I really wish you liberals would become educated, instead of pretending to be....

CO2 is good for plants.

Plants have taken a big hit lately and this is the way the mess gets straightened out. It will get a bit warmer for a while so plants can grow more abundantly, then it will cool back down for a while until it all balances out.
