yes, but now it's just a place for various student organizations and travelling demonstration groups to pass out flyers.
The only real "speech" that goes on there is when Peta, the pro life group, or the evangelical Christians set up shop there and preach and shout down people

This. The only redeeming quality of Free Speech Alley anymore is the "Jesus Talk" guy. I haven't been a student since 2011, but he was always a cool guy.

This, that guy rocks. He preaches Christianity as it should be preached. With an open ear and an open mind, there for all to see, rejecting of no one, always there to listen and offer guidance.

It's just funny seeing as Switchfoot is one step away from a Christian Rock Act (started as such, actually), and even fired their record label and created their own due to their label not supporting their Christian ethics. But apparently they're the devil.
