Why is he not DL eligible? Anyone else stashing him for next year? I could use the extra roster spot.

He was taken off the 60 Day DL at the end of last year, and will be put back on it around Opening Day.

Bingo. Teams wait until the last moment to designate players in ST. It maximizes the team's roster flexibility when letting players compete for positions.

Not worth stashing him, he won't pitch at all this season and won't be effective until late 2015/2016.

I would not stash him if a non-keeper. I think that is what he is saying. On the other hand, his second statement is absurd.

The OP says hes stashing him for next year, so its obviously a keeper.

I guess we'll find out. Beachy just had his 2nd TJ surgery in two years. Medlen too. Harvey had major surgery there is NO guarantee he comes back to be as effective. Go ahead and laugh now...

While I agree with you somewhat, there is big difference in coming off the 1st TJ and the 2nd.

Some have enjoyed success post 1st TJ.

Not many have enjoyed success post 2nd TJ.

Regardless, nothing is guaranteed. Kershaw could blow his arm out tomorrow.
