"Astronomers have discovered what they believe is the first direct evidence of the astonishing expansion of the universe in the instant following the Big Bang -- the scientific explanation for the birth of the universe some 13.8 billion years ago."
“This work offers new insights into some of our most basic questions: Why do we exist? How did the universe begin? These results are not only a smoking gun for inflation, they also tell us when inflation took place and how powerful the process was,” Harvard theorist Avi Loeb said.

Ehyeh rubbed a knuckle under his chin. “I look my best in black. It’s the color of void. I was cloaked in the black of void before creation.”
Sitnah quickly raised her hands. “I can’t allow myself to explore ‘before creation.’”
“I know.” A sly smile curled on Ehyeh lips. “You weren’t meant to. None of my creation can. It would drive them mad in the attempt to comprehend.”
“Creation isn’t even logical. Why did you do it? All knowing, all powerful, all in all should have sufficed for eternity.”
The shears went snick-snick. Ehyeh’s mouth tightened. “When you press me like that it makes me want to prune my roses.” His bottom lip rose toward his nose.
“Prune all you want. I demand to know. Why did you form creation?”
Ehyeh stepped over a verdant rose bush with black blooms larger than his fist. The shears clipped away. “What? You would have me exists alone in a state of madness?”
One final snick of the shears and a single black rose came away from the bush. Ehyeh presented it to Sitnah.

This is the best, most direct evidence that essentially confirms the idea of the Big Bang and the rapid expansion of the universe from a singularity.
The ripple directions match up to density spots in the Cosmic background radiation almost perfectly on images I have seen of this.
Truly an extraordinary discovery.
What's even more amazing is Einstein knew these 'gravitational waves' would be present in the numbers and formulas within his Theories and it took 100 years and super precise technology to prove he was right.
