AD trade possibilities

Not all agree but many do.I wouldn't trade him for 2 top picks because AD is a proven generational talent. Your thoughts? Chance for Embiid and Wiggins do it?

I dispute the fact that they are Pelicans fans.

From an emotional standpoint, I agree. LBJ's a turd and Davis hasn't been tainted yet by the "cool kids" in the NBA.

From a basketball standpoint? That's silly. LBJ makes you an instant contender for the next 2-3 years at least. Assuming Ryno/Jrue can come back 100%, a Jrue/Gordon/LBJ/Ryno/Filler backcourt is essentially a younger, more dynamic version to the core in Miami right now. I'm assuming in a realistic world Evans/Davis get shipped together to make it work.

Trading AD for good talent, BUT unproven talent is a bad move IMO. Say they don't pan out and years down the line, AD is being discussed as the top PF in NBA history while all you're left with is someone who rides the bench all game and a player who is currently in the D-League. No thanks

But on the other hand, it could be a good move. Just depends on who you take and how well they develop. Just don't forget you'll still have to defend against that monster

Not just "no" but "HELL NO".

AD's great and only getting better.

The thread I'm far more interested in is Minny shopping Pekovic, with Eric Gordon and parts mentioned as a possible trade package for him, centered around a three-way deal sending Pekovic to New Orleans and Omer Asik to Minny from Houston.

Minny fans seem convinced that Pek is bad on defense and not worth his contract.

The latter is debatable, but I feel strongly that Pek's defensive problems are in part due to having to play next to Kevin Love, who is great on offense but sucks on D.

Exactly. 2-3 years. Think long term man.

I hate that some of these players can score a few more than AD on avg,. but suck on defense and the media treats them as among the best. Give me a guy who is great at both. Hell,if the Heat had AD instead of Bosh, they may win 5-6 more with an AD/Bron team.

I get your point, BUT . . . you would be trading someone who I think will dominate and be an elite player for ten years, easily, barring injury. Someone who, like LeBron, alters the game. And if the Pels shipped out AD and, say, Evans, you're really rolling the dice on that one.

Trust me, I hate LBJ. You don't pass up a chance to win titles though. This is a ludicrous discussion seen through the tint of home-colored glasses. The other 29 fanbases in the league would take LBJ.

You see, I don't see LeBron in N.O. as much of a sure thing to win a title as you do (and I consider him to be the best player in the league). I'll go further. I think there's better than a reasonable chance that Miami doesn't win the title this year. I'm not sure, as great as he is, that LeBron can guarantee or even make it better than 50.50 that any specific team wins a title.

Indiana will be a tough out and playing in the West would make it a rougher run. But I honestly think the core around him would fit more than the one he's with now. Resigning Morrow would give him 4 much younger players that can throw up the 3 ball at 40%. Throw in the fact that having him alone would allow us to sign vets at the minimum that want to win to plug holes. Like I said, I wouldn't do the trade based solely on the fact that I'd rather see Davis lead us to the promised land than win anything with LBJ. If you were Demps though and winning an NBA title was the only thing that mattered, it's a non-issue. You do it 100% of the time.
