Big run by the Friars to earn themselves a tournament bid.

Was a good game.

Providence will win an NCAAT game, maybe two.

The "old Big East" was in a way broken into two; The American Conference (who took teams like Louisville, Cinci, UConn) and then the "new Big East" which kept the teams known as the Catholic 7 (Marquette, St. Johns, Georgetown, etc) and added Butler and Creighton.

Hopefully that helps

It's pretty simple, Big East includes the basketball schools and some new ones, it was the Catholic 7 plus those they invited. The AAC are the schools who played basketball and football, think UCONN and Cincy. From one conf you have one football conf and two bball conferences.

Good for Providence. They were on the bubble going in and said "screw it let's win the whole thing." I like it.
