So I've been waiting on a cab for an hour.

Baton Rouge may be the shittiest state capital to hail a cab. I have waited for longer than that on regular weekends there (non football, non St. Patrick's Day). I've walked, taken pedicabs, and even asked a police officer to bring me home (the douche bag declined even though it was no more than 2 miles away).

Your best best is to ask one of the bartenders. They tend to know a few cabbies personally and will call one in for you.

So you expect a cop to just start bringing drunk people home while on the job?

He was sitting in the gas station parking lot next to Rotolos on Nicholson twiddling his thumbs. I don't see the big deal?

I can think of many reasons why him bringing you home would be a bad idea.

The whole post was dumb.

The shittiest of state capitals? Lol what a bizarre statement

You asked a cop to bring you home and call him a douche when he doesn't do it? I don't really need to insult you here to be honest

Yeah I would hope any cop with half a brain would have told the guy to frick off.

Then watch to see if the guy got behind the wheel and then arrest his dumb arse.

The cop could have been doing paperwork in their car, etc. Just because a cop is parked doesn't mean they are "twiddling their thumbs"

I have never had more trouble in my life getting a cab there. Given the size of the town, the cab service is nothing short of abysmal.

I wasn't asking him to take me across town. It was The Rotolos/Tigerland area is a good trek from the Lake Beau Pre area. Like I said, you very rarely see taxi cabs circling around the area. I was doing the responsible thing by not getting behind the wheel and driving home.

ETA: That isn't the "safest" of walks either.
