Are there any "bunny slope" type areas for a novice 9 year old to get some seat time?

Just want some open space without too much activity.

Any recommendations? Thx.

Never been there, but from what u have heard, it can get pretty deep in spots. It can get crowded on weekends too. Best bet would be going during the week some time

My little boy has been riding his Yamaha PW50 there since he was 4. Lots of families will be riding, just stay out of the deep holes- people will yeild to you (mostly) when they see a young rider.

The ring road (all the way around the deal) doesn't have any deep holes, but watch out because there will be two way traffic. We have always ridden it counter clockwise- seems like that's the flow of traffic out there.

The riding area is all on the river side. You can't miss it, there are sign, parking lot, etc.

This! HogDaddy's info is also correct, but be advised that the map is very old. When they last opened the spillway, it wiped out the MX track and the subsequent dozer work afterwords destroyed many of the little internal trails. The main wide roads are mainly intact and accurate.

YOU MUST HAVE A HELMET! FOLLOW THE POSTED SIGNS! Sometimes Rangers set up in the parking lot and ticket people who don't obey the stop signs (on quads and bikes) and have no helmet.

If any OBer in the Baton Rouge area needs a helmet for a youth, I have one that I'll give you. It's a nice full face helmet that my son outgrew. Excellent shape and he really didn't use it all that much.

Post your email and I'll contact you. I'd rather it go to a poster that contributes to the board and not a lurker that will put it up on eBay or something. I'll post a pic and size in an hour or so. Should fit any 6-12 year old.

Edit: It's a youth large THH is brand, TX10 is model

That's dirt, not scratches in pic. When I took it out of bag I realized he didn't wipe it down. Did get the foot in the pic....
