Why'd they stop with the Omimushu games?

I know the trilogy finished but you'd think that they could come up with another story-line or something. Those were fun.

Because they found out the faces of the actors were base off of a dead guy and that just's freaky. So sales went down.

Then they made the original mc of Onimusha look like a bitch in part four and that killed the franchise.

It was only the MC for the 2nd game, and I thought this was known before the game came out? Or maybe my sarcasm meter is broken.

I only played the first 2 and really enjoyed them

Dawn of Dreams came out in 2006.

They did announce a new Onimusha game, but I think it's a social game.

Because it was a bad version of Devil May Cry with a plodding plot and a control system that was frustrating.
