Some Keys to Beating Kentucky Tonight

-UK will gang-defend johnny o'bryant. we've got to hope we can at least shoot our average quota of 6-7 threes to take advantage of the openings that will be available in their defense and make them think twice about doubling down and sagging off the perimeter. will be tough to replicate last night's output but we will need stringer, hickey, and coleman to knock some down
-will be a huge boost if johnny can come out like he did in BR and face up and knock down some 10-12 footers. if he gets doubled, tripled early on it seems to disrupt his impact on the game early which is understandable.
-want to see j-mart be aggressive as well. attack off the dribble. he does this and their defense has something else to think about.
-be multiple defensively. we did really good in the 2nd half at rupp of switching things up between man, zone and press. we can't/won't press too much given their athletes and it's our 2nd game in a row but im sure jones will turn it loose in situations. if they struggle shooting from the start we'll see a lot of zone. young is the only guy that scares me.
-if all cylinders click and we can make shots and make some plays going to the rim then we need to pound it at will in the 2nd half. they don't have anyone who can post up johnny man on man except maybe johnson.
all this and the usual rebound, defend, take care of the ball fundamentals you preach every game. LSU has done a good job containing julius randle bar that one game winning tip in. if we can find a way to do it once more it will be a big help.
obviously need a lot to go our way but it's possible. believe sons.

Quarterman missed the last game at Rupp which effected our height in the zone and press. They dribble drove us to death which lead to many put back baskets. Hopefully, Quarterman comes up big on defense tonight...another offensive explosion like last night would be a bonus.

They (UK) can't shoot worth a damn. I would pack that zone down tight and make them beat us from 3. They're gonna make less than Bama did yesterday. Gotta keep those guards out of the paint.

Containing James Young will be crucial. It will be another juggling act for CJJ between Stringer and Hickey's O, and TQ's D. TQ has the ability to at a minimum slow down Young, but it can't come at the expense of damaging us on O.

Offense
- JOB needs to be as relentless as he has ever been, take it to Johnson get him in foul trouble
- make outside shots
- I agree on Martin, he needs to attack on offense
Defense
- stop dribble penetration
- JOB stay out of foul trouble
- force them into a perimeter game
ETA; I think we got this. Hickey gonna go off form 3 land
UK 71

I've already told some of my friends I'm driving to Atlanta if we sneak into the finals
conflicted feelings on that end

I think TQ will have gained some confidence from last night. The other players were really hyped for him. Still makes dumb decisions, especially on O, but we need him on D.
Our guards will take care of the Harrisons, we'll use a variety of defense. I noticed that one of 'em (not sure which!) gets his head down quickly, if frustrated by good defense. Easy to take him out of the game

He looked somewhat gassed towards the end of the Bama game to me. Due to his size and weight, I'm concerned that he will struggle tonight if they expect him to go 30+ minutes again after logging 30+ minutes last night. I hope I'm wrong.
