You know it sucks sometimes being on the other side of the world. 7 hrs ahead in time but a day late in the news.

Herring had agreed to a one-year deal Thursday but both sides agreed to walk away, which keeps Herring as a free agent. Because Herring never signed the deal, the team never made an announcement. A source said it was not related to a failed physical. Herring apparently thought he could get a contract similar to what he had in New Orleans. There he could only play 40 regular defensive snaps and still earn a $715,000 base salary.

Herring was viewed as a special teams player and backup linebacker for the Cowboys.
