Deputies said the wreck involved an 18-wheeler and a car, and happened on I-10 East several miles west of the Lobdell exit.
DOTD said the wreck blocked the left and right lanes of interstate, and traffic was backed up for three miles. State Police advised drivers to avoid the area for the next two hours.
News 2 crews are headed to the scene and will have more information as it becomes available.

I'm about quarter mile from it and there are a mess of cops/emergency/fire personnel oh and ice. Not looking good

Yeah, I passed by right after it happened and it looked pretty bad. I tried to grab a quick video as I passed. Quality's not great and Moscona's on in the background.

GE van on its side. Front end completely gone. Blood and brain matter on the interstate. Left lane closed and police strategically parked around vehicle to block views. Person had no shot.
