The bride and I are meeting Doc and his bride at 7 am in the morning in Lutcher. We're gonna hop on his bus and head north. It will be our first baseball road trip for LSU and we are fired up!

Kinda reminds me of when the boys were 9 years old and we were pulling our campers up to St. Louis to play in the USSSA World series. We knew they were pretty good back then. Its been a great ride and getting better every day!

Who is making the trip? Sound off!

Have fun. Never been to Nashville for a game but baseball road trips are always fun.

I'll be there! But I already live in Franklin, so not exactly a "road trip."

I'll be there whole series. Hope to see a ton of purple and gold take over Vandy!

Any tailgate action going on before the Saturday game?

Thanks for the info maybe we'll check it out. Been to a few Vandy baseball games before usually just crush some beers in the parking lot about an hour or so before going in haha.

we tailgated a few years back before the vandy lsu football game here (with a couple of TD'ers) and set up at 7am about 3 blocks away.

it.
was.
pathetic.

there wasn't another tailgate in the lot we were in and when we finally went to the game, probably passed about 10-15 on the way.

only in nashville can you decide 30 minutes before kick-off to go watch LSU play, drive to the stadium, park outside on the curb, buy tickets at the gate and wander from your assigned seats all the way to the 50 yard line and high five the LSU players before the game starts.

eta true story. it was the matt flynn/jarmacus years.

I went to that one as well. Pathetic is putting it lightly. I understand they're a tremendous academic institution, but GODDAMN. They really DGAF about football. I didn't see a single Vandy fan until we walked in the stadium. I actually saw a few people with Ohio State jerseys and other schools before I saw a Vandy fan.

ETA: Maybe it wasn't the same year, but the point stands. I went in 2010.

do you remember the FRONT PAGE ARTICLE the next day in the tennessean about 'boisterous fans' resulting in vandy cracking down on tailgating.

that had to be my group. i feel personally responsible..we were the only ones doing handstands and tigerbaiting everyone walking by.

My group would have definitely taken part in tigerbaiting as well, if we had seen a single solitary Vanderbilt fan.

It has changed quite a lot since our last football game here. James Franklin turned it around a lot from what I saw. As far as parking an RV they let you park for free in what they call the Mecical Center Lots. These are paid lots for football but free for baseball. Lots 1 1A 2 3 and 4. Never too many people in these lots on the weekend.

I did hear about the reason why people can't tailgate at Centennial park anymore...heard it was because we tore up the park by driving our RV's in there LOL! My buddy is a huge vandy fan and I'll go to the good matchups with him when it doesn't conflict with the LSU schedule.
