I refuse to purchase Dark Souls II for PS3, and Steam hasn't put Dark Souls on sale yet...so, I feel the need to fire up Demon's Souls again.

I tried the Thief when I started before, but I'm leaning towards rolling with a Tank.

Does anyone know if the servers are still up?

Ain't even scared.

SO. MUCH. AWESOME.

My only complete playthrough was with the Royal, who I kind of took in a thief direction. A female Royal of course.

Is Demon's Souls on PC? I want to play it, but I don't want to buy a PS3 to do so

Have you played Dark Souls yet?

PS3 exclusive - think of a stripped version of Dark Souls

I played through the Dark Souls intro but nothing past that. Then I got rid of it when I built my pc.

I think in many respects it is a more difficult game. Perhaps not the bosses, but definitely the mob enemies. Nothing in Dark Souls was as creepy, and scary as the Tower of Latria. And you think Blighttown was miserable? My friend, you have not felt despair until you've wandered around the Valley of Defilement.

But that isn't to say that the bosses of DeS are in any way easy. I wanted to break my ps3 trying to beat Maneater. The garogyle dudes are much tougher, and scarier in DeS. And I'll never forget the first time I beat Flamelurker. Flamelurker made me want to give up on the game. I imagine I would fare much better now, though.

Both of those places suck so bad. Matter of fact, only the Nexus is okay. And it kind of sucks too

Guess I can wait a year or two for last gen prices to sink and grab a ps3 and hit up all the exclusives I've missed

You probably wouldn't like it as much as Dark Souls anyway. There's not as much to it.

Yeah exactly. I would never recommend buying a console for one specific game. I actually did the same thing as OP. I originally had and beat DeS, and DkS on PS3, eventually traded it in for a 360 because Skyrim didn't work for PS3. Then sold it all and went the PC route. But I wanted to play DS2 on release so I bought a PS3 knowing full well that I will eventually want to play Demons Souls again. In short, I've spent a lot of money on consoles over the years!

If you're a fan of the souls' series, and you have access to a PS3 I would absolutely recommend Demons Souls. But I agree with Devious in that overall it is not a better, or more fun game than Dark Souls.

Can you actually play with another person, that you actually know, through this game? I always got the the impression that you sent out a request and it put you with someone random.

Only ps3 exclusive I was happy with was the show. Very disappointed in everything else. Regret buying mine for that reason.

What makes you say this?

People see the sign you've dropped in the world and summon you through it. You can't control who summons yours, so you just drop yours in an obscure place in the level and tell your friend where you dropped it. They see your sign (with your username) and agree to summon you in your world. Played dozens of hours co-op in Demon's Souls.

Yes, but you have to let your pal know where you're placing the souls sign. And you can reject the summon if you don't want someone to join.

No voice chat though.

Get it. We can Skype.

So it's not a co-op game then, in the traditional sense.

Why do I need to get this, dev?
