Another example of how much better off St. Georgians will be in Baton Rouge!

Look at what happens when people who support the arts-and who want to better their own community in Old South Baton Rouge-try to revitalize and build the area up through the Arts.
Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge = Evil Profiteers
St. George folks, take note. This "faction" of "community leaders and artists" wants people to stop writing grants to bring money to support the arts and revitalize the community.
They aren't complaining about taxes. They're complaining that people are writing grants-not taxes, grants-to bring money and art into their community to help rebuild it.
You wonder why St. George wants to try something different...

Holowacz says the bigger issue is that a handful of people have the false impression that Old South Baton Rouge is somehow being used for personal gain. "That's not at all what we're doing," he says. "This is about art. If you want the arts, we're here to bring it. If you don't want the arts, we're going to leave. We can only fight so hard."

The arts are a huge part of the draw of any city. Suburbia is a husk of humanity, the strip malls and chain stores devoid of passion.

That sentence is like something out of a Tom Robbins novel, LOL!
