from espn insider - written by david ching
BATON ROUGE, La. -- LSU sophomore Kendell Beckwith described himself as “the happiest man ever” when he learned that the Tigers’ coaching staff planned to move him from defensive end to linebacker this spring.
After completing his second practice backing up senior D.J. Welter at middle linebacker, Beckwith discussed the position change and what he needs to improve with a group of beat reporters.
Q: How has move to linebacker been so far?
A: I came in as a linebacker and moved to the D-line. I mean, it wasn’t that bad. Moving back to linebacker, it wasn’t as bad as people would think it would be. I don’t know. I try to base my play off being as athletic as possible anyway, so going back and standing up, it’s really not that bad.
Q: What was your reaction when you learned you would switch back?
A: I was the happiest man ever.
Q: Why?
A: Linebacker’s what I wanted to play. What I really wanted to play and where my heart was.

Q: Is D.J. Welter helping you with the move?
hopefully just with scheme and not tackling advice

Cant wait to see #52 lighting RB's up in the hole. IMO he has a very good shot at overtaking Welter's job

He's goin to start MLB with Welter as the sub

here, welter is helping a guy who may take his starting spot. and you talk shite about him for that?
which is it? is he shitty for playing or is he shitty for helping the potential next guy?
maybe, if beckwith does take over the starting role, the rant can adapt to talking shite about welter's posture as stands on the sidelines or whether he drinks too many cups of gatorade.
EVERYONE: WE GET IT. YOU DON'T LIKE DJ WELTER. THAT SHTICK IS STALE.

A while back I said they were gonna put Beckwith at Mike and slide Garrett over. Defense is gonna be absolutely disgusting.

no, Welter's gonna start. Beckwith will be his backup. where's Feist in all this? and is Louis to one of the outside spots a permanent deal?

Kwon moves over to start on front of Debo to clear room for Louis. Vomit.

Strikes again. If you talk bad about another player it gets deleted or you get banned but somehow the opposite is for welter. Pretty much bullshite.

Where does Garrett fit into this group? Is he not going to get a look at MLB?

Probably changes what most of thought about Clifton Garret's position and amount of PT this year.

Gary "from baton rouge" can finally breath a sigh of relief

This year's linebacker corps is going to be interesting. I think Garrett may get some playing time.

we don't have anything against welter, he just isn't nearly good enough to be a starting mlb in the sec.

Cp3 only defends a certain type of player
