Congrats to all, but especially JOB. Came to town with lots of bells and whistles and talent but was very raw.Young man has obviously worked extremely hard to become such a solid player.

Interesting to see Mickey on ALL-SEC defensive team. I know he ranked high in blocks but he didn't play very good defense.

He made big plays but got beat regularly.

That being said, good for him and I hope he continues to improve. Geaux Tigers!

Good for Jarell. I felt like he started to get it as the season went on. He really carved out a niche on the offensive glass.

You're right, overall he really wasn't a great defender. However, you're not going to leave the leader in blocked shots off the All Defensive team. There are really only two easily quantifiable stats for defense (steals and blocked shots), and he led one almost from start to finish.

Young as the DOPY was a bit surprising. However, UF played great defense as a team so I guess they felt they needed to give it to somebody on the team. With Wilbekin getting POY (and by the way, has there ever been a weaker POY?) they went with Young on the defensive side.

Martin's best asset to this team was his rebounding. The rest of his game needs a lot of work.

It's just like Anthony Hickey getting all defensive team last year when his on ball defense is just okay, but he got so many steals it's hard to keep him off it.

Im the exact same way.

Don't really like him as POY but I don't know who else would get it over him...

Im happy Henderson didn't get on 1st team. Never made 1st team at OM. Classic.

I'd want him on my team. Came away really impressed with him after seeing him play us in Baton Rouge a year ago. He doesn't wow you with his game, but the guy can play. His appearance is a little creepy though

It's a joke to me that the first and second teams have 8 players a piece on them. It should be 5 players. If you can't make the cut in the first 5 you go to the second team. Then if you can't make the cut on the second team you go into an honorable mention category.

Then does the media do their own awards?

Not sure but this is the first paragraph of the awards:

The Southeastern Conference unveiled its men’s basketball coaches’ postseason awards Tuesday to cap off another exciting season of SEC basketball.

in reality, he is one of the worst defenders on the team. if you try to block every shot that is put up, you are going to get a few. I guess stats are everything. too bad there is not a stat for how many times a guy was totally out of position for a rebound and his man got a put back because he was on his way down from trying to block a shot he had no business trying to block. or maybe a stat for how many times he let a guy drive past him and score because he thought he could block him from behind like the tallest player on the playground usually does.

Good thing there is a stat for how many times a player blocks a shot attempt thus preventing a basket. Mickey's good at that.
