Some of you may recall my thread about DeBlassio cutting off his own constituents by shutting down successful charter schools for the poor.

I used the analogy of a Hunger Advocate preferring for people to go hungry instead of taking donations from the Koch Brothers.

Well, it happened.

Reality is often stranger than fiction and people are sometimes ridiculous. This article proves both points.

Wow, the Koch Brothers do not support pro-life issues in fact I know several pro-life people on the national level that Koch operatives have tried to silence in one way or another.

I find the outrage the Koch brother drum up hilarious. For some reason I read r/politics a good bit and every day there is a story about Koch bros ruining
America.

Love the Charter system as an alternative to regular public schools. My kids go to local fantastic charter that is national recognized for college prep!

Glad to hear it.

Charter schools have not been that successful in La. Charters have been granted to some very shady characters who had no clue about running a school.
We also have so many private school and magnet school alternatives.

We don't have much in the way of ISDs.

My grandson is doing great in a Magnet for the Academically talented. He inherited his Grandpa's IQ.

I was talking to an anti-hunting advocate who said he'd rather see the deer population crash from starvation before he'd see a hunter killing a deer. They're the same people who cheer when a hurricane hits somewhere in the Gulf where Mother Gaia strikes back against her human infestation. Actual pain and suffering is irrelevant to them. It's all about the cause.

That is actually a very good depiction of this situation. These individuals are clearly too stupid to reason with.

Ooooh, that was a big issue last year here in La. A bunch of deer hunters donated perfectly good venison to some Food Banks. The Food Banks threw the stuff away. Caused quite a stir.

I remember that, but I seem to recall that it was more of the venison was not FDA approved. I have never received any FDA approved venison back from my processor.

There ya go. The do-gooders would rather see the homeless lick discarded food containers in a dumpster somewhere rather than go against the cause.

Wasn't there a church "feed the poor" function shut down up in NYC because the local govt said it didn't comply with the regulations on salt? They have no concept of what it's like to be truly hungry.

In 1991 when Saddam ran all the Kurds into the hills in northern Iraq, we started Operation Provide Comfort where C-130s dropped pallets of multinational MREs to the poor starving buggers. When the Kurds heard a C-130 and saw a parachute, they all came running. It was a case of "the early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese" scenario. The first guys to the pallet landing site would often get crushed by the pallet because of everyone behind them trying to get to the food. The French "MRE" had a can of sterno in it, and the Kurds drank it thinking it was some type of weird western beverage.

After about 2 weeks, we got an unclassifed message saying, "It appears the hunger crisis in No. Iraq has been averted. I witnessed two boys having a boat race with MRE packages in a stream."

I know a doctor who lives in NYC; very intelligent guy. He says that DeBlasio is going to ruin that city. He said that Bloomberg got carried away with some of his nanny state tendencies, but that at the end of the day, Bloomberg understood business and was all about business.

Otoh, this DeBlasio guy is a true left-wing kook who will end up ruining NYC. That's my belief, too.

Man, a state with the likes of Cuomo, DeBlasio, and maybe the biggest jerk of all, Schumer. Louisiana has had some bad politicians, but that's a terrible trio if I ever saw one.

I've been reading a lot about DeBlasio and I don't think he is as much a politician as he is a True Believer. This guy is not playing a game to advance his career as much as he truly believes in equal outcomes by using the power of govt to create equality.

I would say he's probably into John Rawles' Theory of Justice but I don't think he's smart enough to understand Rawles.
