I never bothered seeing it sooner because I have no specific love for racing but I kept hearing about how good it was so watched it Saturday night for my Movie and Cigar Night.

Damn, a pretty good movie. Similar to Warrior, although this movie appears to be based on a topic or activity, the character development and acting make it much more than "a racing movie" just like Warrior was much more than "an MMA movie." The fact that it was based on real people and events gives it even more shine to me. Crazy how similar both characters looked to the real people, especially after the huge event halfway through (no spoilers). I would definitely watch it without knowing the real story or characters beforehand if possible. I didn't and could see it not being as much of a thrill if you already knew the gist of the events.

I'd say definitely worth watching, 8/10 on the viewer scale and probably 7/10 on the critic scale. Could have had a little more meat or substance, perhaps at the end to give more about how each turned out.

Definitely. One of those movies that I am really glad I saw in theaters because of the unbelievable visuals and sound. I hope you have a great home theater, because while it is not necessary to have some wonderful TV or surround sound system, it certainly enhances the experience.

The scenes where Howard cuts to the engines had my heart bumping pretty well. I'm like you and have no real love for racing, but despite that, I was drawn into the story, the characters, and the setting so completely that I forgot that I don't know a damn thing about the sport. Truly wonderful movie that shows how great Daniel Bruhl is as an actor and that Chris Hemsworth is more than just a pretty face. Also, fairly educational as I had only a faint idea before about all the science that goes into the sport.

I watched it at home and turned on the surround sound. It rarely gets turned on for movies.

I did the same thing, I kept putting it off. But once I watched, I thought it was an amazing movie. Even though I never heard of the racers, the way this story was told made thin out to be legends. Great movie!!

Why would you rarely turn it on for movies ? That is the whole point.

I don't like the movie to over bearingly loud. I usually just use it for music or sports. I am quiet as a mouse when watching a movie or tv
