Today is the 40th Anniversary of one of college basketball's greatest games

ACC Tournament final: #1 in the country NC State 103, #5 in the country Maryland 100. This was the final year of only one team from a conference going to the NCAA Tournament. Even ranked #5, in today's format its conceivable that Maryland team would have been a one seed.
