Turned it off within five minutes.

I guess the current Hollywood trend is to use the n-word as often as possible. That must okay now, considering Tarantino didnt hold back with Django.

I thought 12 Years was more of a family friendly Roots type film than Django.

Needless to say, I'm disappointed.

didnt they whip the shite out of slaves' backs the whole time in roots? Good stuff for 4 year old family fun.

I understand you had good intentions but seriously you should have known better. There are very few family friendly movies this day and time.

Rated R and family friendly aren't really meshing well in my mind...

Not sure if serious. You must be a terrible parent if you watch R-rated movies with a 4-year-old.

ETA: Did you give him a joint and a beer during the movie? I've noticed that's becoming more popular among today's parents.

I didn't pay attention to the rating.

Please understand that I turned it off almost immediately.

12 Years a Slave was nothing like Django, just for the record.

Is the movie rated R because of the N word or are there other reasons?

My 4 year old loved Django. He hasn't seen 12YAS yet.
