Anyone have any experience with giving a new employer the wrong routing number for direct deposit paychecks?

I started a new job recently and found out after my first pay cycle that I gave them the incorrect routing number. I should have gotten my first check last Friday; when it never showed up I asked about it and found I gave them the wrong routing number.

My question for anyone with experience with banking, paying employees, or direct deposit- when might I get paid if I corrected my info on Monday?

Next pay cycle after you submit the corrected form generally. I made this mistake but got a paper check on payday at the regular time.

Well, you seem to know the problem.
You should realize the solution could be found with you employers payroll dept.

You are exhibiting poor problem solving skills and lack of nuts to speak with you employer. Grow up and try to make you company money or you wont last long.

They would have verified this number when you deposited the first check

It will take a week or so for the place it was sent to to kick the funds back to your company.

At that time they will either cut you a paper check or rout the $ to the right account.

Ask you payroll dept how they handle it. They will view it as your dumb mistake and don't care how long it takes for that money to come back to the company before they forward it to you.

First check should have been paper, and they would have prenoted your checking account to make sure everything was ok. Prenoting is no longer required, but it is good payroll practice. Your company is obviously not practicing good payroll practices.

But, since you gave the wrong routing number, the electronic deposit had no where to go, so it should have bounced back to them the next day. Assuming that accounting verifies back accounts daily, which they should, you should have a paper check cut to you by the end of the day. That's what we used to do when I worked in accounting/payroll. But that was 20 years ago. Things might have changed a bit.

Please give your new employer a voided out check so you don't screw this up again.

You are lucky they haven't canned you yet. I certainly wouldn't let someone get past their probation period who can't even provide proper information that will benefit himself. Imagine how his quality control will be for the company.

Nah, I'm pretty sure Burger King knows their process isn't idiot-proof and have built in proper safeguards.

You are exhibiting an ability to pompously assume incorrect things. I work at a chain restaurant and the general-managers and shift leads are totally inane/too busy to speculate as to the timeline the people at the corporate office are operating on.

As to why I didn't give the correct routing info in the first place, the manager who hired me told me to write that info down during the interview, not having my routing/ac number memorized nor a smart phone, I texted a family member and was given the wrong info.
