Believe it or not Shreveport has a rich musical history.

quote:

Lewis’s life story would easily yield a fascinating biography or documentary. In the 1950s, he developed a long-lasting friendship with Leonard Chess from Chicago. This resulted in Chess releasing records by Shreveport musicians, such as: Jimmy and Johnny, TV Slim, Lucky Clark, and (Stan’s Record Shop employee) Dale Hawkins of “Susie Q” fame.

Down towards the bottomm you will see Rev. Brady L. Blade.

The Reverends son's are talented musicians. Brian is considered one of the best Jazz drummers in the world and Brady Jr. records and plays with Dave Matthews, Emmy Lou Harris and many others. Brady Jr. has a studio in Shreveport.

Not to mention James Burton, the Louisiana Hayride, etc. I'm very good friends with Brady Jr. Made several records with him. Brian is one of the most coveted drummers on the planet. Brady Sr. is quite a character as well.

Don't forget about Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

Shreveport has some really good young talent as well.

Dylan Leblanc
Dirtfoot
The Lackadaisies
Victor Olston
Maggie Koerner

A lot of the artists, for good reasons, relocate to Nashville, New Orleans, Austin and Muscle Shoals.
