The wife and I are moving to the Perimeter Atlanta area and found some really nice new construction homes in Dacula but we know little to nothing about the area. Our real estate agent isn't saying much about the area citing the FAIR housing act. It seems a little remote but I work from home so I don't have to deal with traffic that much.

Thanks!

There is a place that we haul plastic pipe to that receives at midnight to 6 am. That's all I know about it.

Move to Marietta. I have a buddy from there and it's a pretty nice place.

Graduated from the HS there.

Lots of houses
Lots of fast food chain restaurants
Huge church (Hebron)
Public and private golf courses nearby
Decent schools when I was there
Private school if you want
Traffic around town usually isn't too bad unless you catch Hebron letting out on a Wednesday or Sunday

Where are you going to be working? If Atlanta, that's a haul for a daily commute.

ETA: I didn't pay a lot of attention, just saw WFH.

I will still have to go to the perimeter area from time to time. Our biggest concern is that it is too far away from everything but at the same time we can get a beautiful house with a huge yard for our budget so we want to make sure we aren't living somewhere terrible.

Is the church the center of the community or what?

I like Dacula. Its not that far from anything near the Mall of GA fairly easy access to 85. Nice houses, Trophy Club is a great golf course.

Have you looked up 400 yet, Alpahretta, Cumming, Johns Creek, etc.... When you say you need to go to Perimeter, where do you mean? because usually when I hear perimeter area, it means perimeter mall, which is 400 and 285

I would look in Johns Creek, Alpharetta, and Forsyth County. They are much closer to the Perimeter, have the top schools in the state and property values will continue to rise. JMHO

My brother lived there for about 10 years. It seemed like a very nice town and I know that he liked it a lot.

Biggest thing to know is it's pronounced 'duh-CUE-la'. If you pronounce it like dracula without the r you will be ridiculed.
