I'll let you click the article to see who's directing. It's a surprise.

And the shitty remake goes to........

However, thanks to the Motley Fool for appealing to their wallets in its condemnation.

Also, Platinum Dunes has had a number of directors and actresses attached to this over the last decade. I'm far from convinced they'll move forward with this.

Birds just aren't that terrifying.

Might as well remake Kingdom of the Spiders and bring back The Shatner.

What made The Birds so special is that it was pretty unique for its time, most of the creature features were more science fiction, not normal birds that could attack...... Now we have Sharknados so what would make birds scary ?

And why would they turn on us, and how would they even be capable of it? If you hate "The Happening", shouldn't you also hate "The Birds?"

He's changed his name?

In the case of The Birds, because it's a readaptation of the original short story instead of a true remake of Hitchcock's classic, it's possible that the inevitable comparisons will miss the point since director Diederik Van Rooijen isn't trying to remake the 1963 film.

While Van Rooijen isn't well known in the U.S., his Dutch films such as Taped and Daylight have received positive reviews that attest to his ability to create tension and suspense on the screen.

Sorry. I first heard it on the radio, which reported "written and directed by."

Doesn't matter. Will suck.

Probably. Unless it truly is a re-imagining of the original source material and is well written.

He doesn't have a writing credit, either.
