Yea. Apparently BRPD can issue you a $50 ticket if any part of your car is touching the grass of your lawn.
frick. This. City.
Might as well fricking pave your entire property. Then you can park wherever you want and they cant fine you.

According to a parking ordinance passed by the Metro Council, if you park anywhere other than on a hard surface, and that includes your private property, you could be subject to a $50 fine. The ordinance has been in existence for quite some time, but in August, the council amended it to allow sheriff's deputies to begin doing what police have been doing for years.

I wonder how many of those tickets they issue in the ghetto.
Posted on 3/2/14 at 2:49 am to DollaChoppa
Well obviously its not enforced. I know people that park in their yards daily.

No point in policing the city for real crime and issuing tickets to people who can't add to their corrupt coffers.

That's absurd. Doesn't make any sense

Got one of these a few years back when I was in college. They said it was some kind of dust ordinance

And yet, there is a ticket dated February 28th for $50 on a car in my yard.

Well. Just that everyone parks in the front yard in that part of town. They would make a killing. If people would show up and pay. So they probably don't issue them.

They could rake in some cash in north BR. 3-6 tickets per house.

Where my cousin lives in Michigan they get ticketed if you are parked in your own driveway if your car even partially blocks the neighborhood sidewalk.

geez - I'm mean really why does the city car where I park my car as long as its not parked in the street. can you call the officer that wrote the ticket and ask for a better explanation or fight it in traffic court.

He ca try to fight it, but what good would it do to ask the officer for a better explanation? There's a statute. Period.

Only trashy people park on their yard.
