Stevens Johnson Syndrome (SJS) is a severe adverse reaction to a medication. It was named after two U.S paediatricians who described it in 1922.
It affects around two people per million and is more common among women.
Symptoms include skin rashes, blisters in the mouth, ears and nose and swelling of the eyelids.
If left untreated the condition can result in death. Possible complications include permanent blindness and lung damage.
Once diagnosed doctors will immediately stop the patient taking the offending drug.
Treatment includes IV fluids and high calorie formulas to promote healing.
Antibiotics are given when necessary to prevent secondary infections such as sepsis.
Pain medications such as morphine can make the patient more comfortable.

TMEP: Telangiectasia Macularis Eruptiva Perstans:
Telangiectasia macularis eruptiva perstans (TMEP), described by Parkes Weber in 1930, represents a rare form of mastocytosis. The typical lesions are telangiectatic macules with background color ranging from light to dark brown. TMEP develops more frequently in adults, although there are reports of cases affecting children.
Despite most cases being limited to the skin, with lesions on the chest and extremities, systemic involvement may occur. Bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract, liver, spleen, and lymph node involvement are not uncommon. Hematological abnormalities may also be present and the association with multiple myeloma and polycythemia vera has been reported.7 Histologically, the lesions are characterized by an infiltrate consisting of mast cells around venues and dilated capillaries of the superficial venous plexus of the dermis. The treatment is based on the symptoms presented by the patient, and there is no gold standard treatment to date.

I'm congenitally missing a tooth (baby teeth with no adult teeth growing under them) on all 4 sides of my jaw. One or even two is a bit more common, but 4 is very rare.

That case was a reaction to Zantac. Scary to think that it can happen just as an adverse reaction to meds
