Sitting in the Airport in ATL about to board flight to San Juan. Staying a few nights in Fajardo and a few nights in OSJ.

Just seeing if anyone has any personal experience with places they've liked. I've researched so I've got a good idea of the places we are going to eat at, but you never know what someone will recommend.

Try to hit up some places in the region of SJ called the Candado. It is just to the east of OSJ almost due north of the airport. Many nice places near or on the beaches.

There is a Chili's there. Diva's and Cheetahs may not serve food, but a good time for sure. Most places I went to eact around there were with locals and I don't even know if they had a name. Some were food truck type places. Past the Walgreens and Diamond Palace Casino, there is a nice Argentinian place on the left. Don't recall the name, it was 8 years ago or so since my last visit.

There is a tapas restaurant in the Hotel El Convento in OSJ that is awesome. Ridiculous sangria and some really good tapas items. El Picoteco is the name of it.

DO NOT go to OLD HARBOR BREWERY. We were recommending it for steak and were ridiculously disappointed. One of the more expensive meals on the trip also. El restauranto es muy horriblé!

Trip Advisor app is your friend.

* Not Puerto Rican per se, but Pinkys in the Condado area was great for breakfast Pinky's menu
* Didn't eat in a restaurant in OSJ, but there was plenty of great street food in the main plaza area (Plaza de Armas IIRC).
* I highly recommend the kioskos at Luquillo beach if you're in that general direction (Luquillo is in the general vicinity of the rain forest). Quite a few open air, casual dining restaurants with authentic puerto rican food.

Go to Via Appia in the Condado area. Sit inside at the bar. Ask for the owner, Martini. Ask if he will make you his signature seafood linguine. Not on the menu. If you chat him up and are respectful he will bring you a fabulous cheese plate after dinner that will knock your socks off. Then again maybe he only does this me and the regulars.
