Cause for concern or just ramblings from "concerned" politicians?
What say the PoliBoard?
quote:
In a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, Mr. Paul writes that he has “serious concerns” about Dr. Vivek Murphy’s ability to “impartially serve as ‘the Nation’s Doctor.’ “
quote:
“In his efforts to curtail Second Amendment rights, Dr. Murthy has continually referred to guns as a public health issue on par with heart disease and has diminished the role of mental health in gun violence,” Mr. Paul said. “As a physician, I am deeply concerned that he has advocated that doctors use their position of trust to ask patients, including minors, details about gun ownership in the home.

He is Obama, as are the entire core surrounding/appointed by this Marxist revolutionary.

The left will never give up its crusade against guns. They will use any tool they have - the VA, law enforcement unions, the health system (that they are in the process of taking over), the EPA, Department of Education - ANY TOOL available to restrict law-abiding citizens from purchasing, possessing and carrying firearms.
It is second only to their sacrament of abortion on demand.

Comparing gun violence to heart disease is stupid. I wonder if this guy has actually seen any stats.

Joe Rogan said it best: this country has a mental health problem disguised as a gun problem and a tyranny problem disguised as a security problem.

Agreed. this from a Reuters source:
quote:
The United States had about 31,300 firearms deaths in 2010, with two-thirds of them suicides, according to the Centers for Disease Control and the National Vital Statistics Report.
According to Wiki there were 32,885 auto deaths in 2010.
Hopefully the SG will not try to take our vehicles away from us too.

I've been hearing about how Obama wants to take our guns away from us since before he was elected. In the 5+ years since he's taken over, the only gun legislation I can think of that he's passed expanded gun rights by allowing people to bring loaded firearms into national parks.
Can anyone point me to legislation Obama has signed actually curtailing our 2nd Amendment right so that I may get a sense of where this fear is coming from...?

Every appointee by a liberal progressive is cause for concern because all will promote the liberal agenda. Elections have consequences. Our nation is going the way of Europe and it's not a pretty sight.

So 10k shootings resulting in death. The other 2/3 will just find other ways to kill themselves.

Gotta give Joe credit, that's pretty damn accurate.

Yep. Jumping off bridges and overpasses always bring traffic to a halt for a considerable time. I say leave the guns out there so these type people can end their life in their own privacy.

I feel like Rand is the only politician actually expressing concerns about our freedoms. Where are all the other "conservatives"?

Definitely a cause for concern. Though my kids already know that if that question was ever asked to them, they should apologize for their inability to answer.

"I have a pen and a phone."
You should ask about his phone calls and appointees rather than legislation. Obama's smarter than to push a bunch of legislation.

Has there been any legislation curtailing our 2nd Amendment rights that has survived out of Congress? You do know legislation comes from Congress, don't you?
Obama be mad.
quote:
Speaking with more emotion than he has publicly on any issue, the president castigated the senators who defeated a background checks measure. But he vowed to fight on, reports Eleanor Clift.
A visibly angry President Obama, reacting to the defeat of an exceedingly modest gun control measure, called it “a pretty shameful day for Washington” when the wishes of 90 percent of the American people can’t be translated into Senate action.
The president spoke with more emotion and for a more sustained period of time than he has publicly on any issue, castigating the minority of senators who blocked the measure and saying he wanted to talk “plainly and honestly about what’s happened here.”
