Guns or Pot?

quote:

CHICAGO (AP) - Guns and marijuana don’t mix, according to federal authorities, even if the gun is a legally held firearm and the drug is recommended by a doctor. That interpretation of federal law is turning up in Illinois’ draft medical marijuana regulations to the frustration of patients and caregivers. As the state launches its first medical cannabis program, firearms ownership is overshadowing other issues such as the $150 proposed annual fee for patients and how new medical conditions would be added to an approved-for-use list.

Wait till ADHD/ADD meds prevent people from owning a gun. All those college students who thought they "couldn't pay attention" are going to flip out.

This is so much overreach. When does alcohol come into play? How about males between 15-25 since they have some much testosterone?

If you're stupid enough to disclose your pot, you should forfeit every right you have.

With the gov. running healthcare, they'll be a billion reasons to deny gun ownership.

I called this along time ago.

Wait, is this something that would turn up in a background check? Is this not kept private under doctor-patient confidentiality?

I know i know.. that doesnt exist much anymore but still.

It fell out of my boat while was fishing but I brought it along just in case of getting a shot at something. If it is made legal I would never obey the laws regarding a prescription from a doctor. I have two siblings who have for two plus or minus advised for their patients the first one was my grandmother when she was dealing with chemo and my brother told three of my sisters to take her outside in the morning to have a joint. She told one of the three that it was a nice buzz that was rather a good thing to experience after the second day of smoking it. That was thirty plus years ago with him being an oncologist in Illinois.

yep knew this was going to happen the APP will take on many shapes in the coming years this is just one. Yes this is a form of gun control, since when did a legal prescription prohibit the ownership of firearms

Go read the questions on a ATF Form 4473. Pay particular attention to the one about drug use.
