Tom Harkin comes along and proves me wrong.

Thanks Marco Rubio!

Tom Harkin is a New Deal relic who should have been put to pasture years ago. How Iowans can still elect this museum piece is beyond me.

ETA: just watched the video and that was purely awesome. I would love to see Steak Fry Tom's response.

He has finally put himself out to pasture.

Let's hope Iowa sends someone with half a brain cell.

He should've done it years ago.

Democratic congressman Bruce Braley is the favorite right now.

The guy is a typical Dem, he doesn't even live in the state anymore but morons kept pulling the lever for this tool.

Braley leads each of three Republicans (Jacobs, Ernst and Whitaker) by 6 points in polls released today, and a fourth Republican (Clovis) by 8 points.

Once the dust settles after the Republican primary, and Braley's pro-ACA vote becomes the focus of the campaign, perhaps the race will tighten up by November.

Here's hoping. It's a chance to get rid of one of the last New Dealers on the Hill.

Harkin is a really bitter man, with lots of class envy running through him. Just like Harry Reid.

Pretty powerful retort. I have to wonder if Harkin has enough sense to be ashamed of his speech.

Back on point though, I thought Rubio was pretty impressive. I think he's the one the Left fears the most. Not only because of his ethnicity, but because he's really articulate, is sharp, has an attractive family, and would deliver a nice big set of electoral votes to the GOP.

He would also put a dent in the Hispanic vote, and could have more Hispanics identifying as GOP since "W". He could also make real immigration reform, and I think he learned from that little dance with the Gang of Eight, and won't repeat that mistake.

Yes. Mexicans hate Cubans, so his effect on the Latino vote would be minimal outside of Florida. However, if he could sway enough Cubans in Florida to vote for the GOP, that could make things electorally very interesting.

With that being said, Rubio is a neo-con blowhard that I don't want anywhere near the white house. He's very much so dem-lite on fiscal issues and individual liberty while being a war hawk on defense. No thanks.

Yeah, the Dems will exploit that.

Not to be political, but Bob is actually very intelligent. He just uses bad judgement sometimes.

"W" did quite well with the Latino vote, and Rubio will be able to appear on Univision and speak the language.

Being for a strong National Defense does not make one Pro-War. The US does itself no favor by retreating from the world, and letting the Chinese and the Russians call the tune.
