It was entertaining enough although I was thinking how much better it would've been with just JT and not Fallon.

Yep. Not really adapting to the new time slot. Just doing his thing. We'll see if it pays off for him.

NBC is going to give him all the time he wants though. No chance in Hell they pull a Conan on him.

Fallon needs to do some cardio, you could tell he was getting winded at about the 3 minute mark.

Agreed. People just don't like to see a nice guy succeed. They hate to hate.

Tuesday night The Tonight Show had its strongest viewing in 13 years. People like him.

Olympic Lead In + Newness of the show.

Fallon will probably have good ratings, but let's not proclaim him a success just yet.

Why do people say that? Nobody over 50 is watching late night anyway. They're all sleeping.

I'm over 50. I made it halfway to 2:52 (through the Hotsteppuh part).

The problem with late night television is that there's nothing new there. We haven't had anything new since Letterman in the 80's and Arsenio in the 90's.

I hope what you are referring to is the fact that Fallon is bringing something new. He's blending SNL with late night and that's a great thing. Your target audience should be the 18-35 crowd.

The only thing new with Fallon and Kimmel is their dabbling in the viral video realm. Skits and a musical host began with the original Tonight Show with Steve Allen. Letterman brought National Lampoon and SNL humor to late night and merged it with Allen's shtick.

Strongest viewing for any Tuesday in the last 13 years, not any day

I disagree. The great thing about Fallon's show is his audience participation, game show type games and getting celebrities to make a fool of themselves. I mean, he smashed a raw egg on Tom Cruise's head and made him love it.

That's because it reminded Cruise of a money shot.
