The highly anticipated sequel to "Sharknado" just got more star-studded. Kelly Osbourne, Mark McGrath, Vivica A. Fox, Andy Dick, "30 Rock" alum Judah Friedlander and "Taxi" vet Judd Hirsch have joined the upcoming Syfy TV movie

quote:

Fox will play Fin's old school friend, Skye, and McGrath will play Fin's brother-in-law. Osbourne will portray a flight attendant, and Dick has been cast as a police officer. Stepping into his old shoes, Hirsch will play a taxi driver. All that's known about Friedlander's character is that his name is Brian.

Unless Dick gets killed early on he's going to kill this movie. Very disappointing.

At first I was like:

Yep. I'm thinking the same thing. That cast is terrible.

The cast is supposed to be terrible. I'm already looking forward to Kelly Osborne's plane getting swallowed up by a sharknado. Andy Dick as a cop? That has gold written all over it.

Intentionally so.

They could've got a bunch of no-names, instead they got a bunch of washed up has beens who've become punchlines.

They're shooting for the stars. This may be the best worst movie of all time

They need to get Samuel L. Jackson to do a cameo as the airline passenger who screams out "Who put these mother fricking sharks on my mother fricking plane!"

I was hoping for a similar type of cast as they got. I just hate Andy Dick. The only way I will enjoy him is if they make a spectacle out of killing him. If it happens in the first 10 minutes then we may have the GOAT movie on our hands.

Why is this movie considered any better or worse than every other Syfy original? They're all pretty much the same. Ridiculous plot, cheap special effects, D-list actors, etc. I don't get the praise for this.

I can only assume that you haven't seen the brilliance that is Sharknado.

I have seen it, along with several other Syfy movies. They're all the same level of crap/awesome depending on your point of view.

Seriously, there is just something about the ridiculousness of Sharknado that makes for an actually entertaining bad movie. A lot of the times bad movies cliches and structure can just be boring. Not Sharknado. Sharknado knows what it is and shoots straight for that. The very idea of a Sharknado itself is just awesome in its horribleness. Who would even think of that as being a thing?
