For Aaron Brooks. Anyone think that getting this SF could possibly make more sense for the Rockets trading Parsons and whoever else for Rondo?

Rondo would be an awful fit with Harden. Both need to dominate the ball.

Trade deadline is in 20 minutes, neither is getting moved.

Does Rondo fit Houston?

Houston likes penetrators who can shoot 3's, while swinging the ball quickly.

Rondo only fits one of those qualities, and the ball is in Harden's hands at the end of the game. Nobody would even guard Rondo, which collapses driving lanes.

He wouldn't be an awful fit at all. He's a great player. They could make it work. But it's not happening.

Rondo doesn't look to score though. He looks to pass it off to the open shot. Completely different.

He would hopefully fix our biggest weakness (perimeter defense). It would definitely make the Rockets better if they didn't give up Parsons in a Rondo trade. I think people overrate how much Harden really needs the ball. He played just fine in OKC with Westbrook and Durant on the team.

Rondo would be a terrific fit with the Rockets, everyone baffles me who says that he wouldn't be. As for giving up Parsons to get him, is it worth it? I've been wavering back and forth on this, at first hating the idea of giving up Parsons and thinking that Morey never would, but now I think it would be worth it. Love Parsons and his game (and his contract), but if you have the opportunity to get a player like Rondo, you do it. Now the Hamilton factor, I think he's a talented young player with good upside. A possible Parsons replacement? Maybe.

Harden is not a catch & shoot guy. He needs the ball in his hands.

Rondo is practically useless on offense without the ball in his hands because his poor jump shooting.

+1000. Houston is strongest in the halfcourt set when Harden has the ball and drives to the basket. What good is a point guard who can't shoot?

Also, Parsons is great for team chemistry as well. If he were to go, it would be a huge hit to the mojo houston has going right now.

I figured we'd bypass the figures discussion. But yes, he has an amazing contract.
